Background and Purpose
The purpose of this initiative is to support the infrastructure of organizations, with limited capacity to achieve their organizational goals, dedicated to the prevention and elimination of underserved social and health issues. ShadowBlossom, Inc. offers any combination of the following capacity building services to selected organizations, free of charge:
-- planning to support organizational development and activities,
-- fundraising support through planning, pre and post event support, venue consultation, and volunteer provision, and
-- program evaluation through consultations to increase program quality and effectiveness.

Eligibility Criteria
Organizations that meet the following criteria are eligible to apply -
• Domestic non-profit 501(c)3 public and faith-based organizations
• Located in the metropolitan Atlanta area
• Dedicated to underserved/vulnerable social and health issues
• Have a demonstrated need for SB’s services
• Demonstrated organization limitation illustrated by two or more of the following conditions:
-- limited organizational capacity (less than four paid staff members),
-- finances (annual budget of less than $25,000) and
-- other resources (limited staff skill sets).

Request for Service Application Process

Pre-proposal
- Nonprofit organizations interested in applying for services must submit a pre-proposal. The information contained in the pre-proposal helps guide ShadowBlossom, Inc. staff in determining which organizations to ask to submit a full application for services. ShadowBlossom, Inc. will review the pre-proposals to determine if the proposed projects are aligned with ShadowBlossom, Inc’s services and mission. The pre-proposal must be submitted by February 9, 2009. Applicants will be notified of the decision to participate in the RFA process by March 2, 2009.

Pre-Proposal Submission Information: The pre-proposal may be submitted to the Executive Director through the following methods:

Request for Service Application (RFA) - Phase Two of the application process only applies to organizations whose pre-proposal was selected. Applicants must complete a full RFA to be considered for a project. The RFA submission deadline is April 3, 2009.

Submission Deadline: April 3, 2009

Number of Applications: An organization may submit more than one pre-proposal if the proposals are distinct in goals. However, SB will request a full application and grant an award for only one RFA per organization during an award cycle*.

Anticipated Number of Awards: ShadowBlossom, Inc. will provide services for up to two organizations for a six month time period, per award cycle*.

*ShadowBlossom, Inc. releases a Request for Service Applications biannually.
